A vessel page shows the result of matching against eight official sanctions lists — "No matches on any of the 8 sanctions lists" or a match with the list named.
How it works
- Rynda matches the vessel against official sanctions lists by the vessel’s own IMO and by the IMO of its companies: the registered owner, the ship manager, the ISM manager and the DOC holder.
- It shows a match status for each list, not an assessment of the vessel’s behaviour.

On the card each list has its own cell: "No match" or "Match". A separate row covers the check of the companies in the ownership chain and has three states:
- "No matches for the owner, manager or ISM manager" — the vessel's companies were screened and none is listed;
- "Match in the ownership chain" — at least one of the companies is listed;
- "Not screened" — the registry holds no company IMO for the owner or managers, so only the vessel itself was screened. For such a vessel, check the owner by name in the primary sources.

Three possible outcomes — and why "no matches" is not "no data"
- No matches. The vessel and its companies were checked against the lists and nothing matched.
- Matched. The page states how many matches belong to the vessel itself and how many to its related companies.
- No result. Screening is unavailable for this vessel.
The third case is never shown as "no matches": missing data is not the absence of sanctions. "No matches" appears only when the check ran and neither the vessel nor its companies are on any list.
"No matches" is a fact of the check on its date, not a finding that no restrictions apply.
Vessel-level matches and ownership-chain matches are judged separately: a vessel can be listed while its owning companies have no matches, and the reverse.
