rynda matches vessels against official sanctions sources by the vessel's and its owner's IMO and highlights the matches on the map. It's a tool for preliminary counterparty checks — not vessel-behaviour analysis and not "dark fleet" monitoring.
What rynda actually shows
- We display data from open, official sanctions sources that we track.
- A match is determined by the vessel's IMO and by the shipowner's identifier.
- Matched vessels are highlighted on the map — a prompt to check further, not a conclusion.
How to turn it on
- Open the Ports Map.
- Enable the "Under sanctions" tool in the left rail.
- Vessels matched against the sanctions sources are highlighted.
Important: informational only
- The information is for reference and informational purposes, provided to make preliminary counterparty checks easier.
- You must verify the facts in the primary sources — the official sanctions lists of the relevant jurisdictions.
- rynda is not a source of sanctions decisions, gives no legal assessment, and does not track vessel behaviour or movements.
- If you spot a discrepancy or error in the highlighting, let us know and we'll review and correct it.
Treat the highlight as a reason to verify in the primary source, not as a final decision.
