On rynda.io you can find a vessel by name or IMO/MMSI, and a port by name or code. Search works both on the map and in the global search field.
How to find a vessel
- Open the Ports Map.
- Type a vessel name or its IMO/MMSI into search.
- Pick the vessel from the suggestions — the map flies to it and opens its card.
- The card shows position, speed, destination and recent port calls.
How to find a port
- Type a port name or its code (e.g. UNLOCODE).
- Open the port card — traffic, draught limits, nearby vessels.
Useful filters
- Vessel type — tankers, bulkers, container ships and more.
- Motion status — underway, anchored, moored.
- Sanctions — highlight vessels matched against official sanctions sources.
If a vessel isn't found
A ship may be outside AIS reception or temporarily without a signal — then its last known position is shown. This is normal on the open sea.
Tip: search by IMO — it's unique and never changes, unlike a vessel's name.
