A port page is the port's dossier on rynda.io: NGA World Port Index particulars, live AIS traffic, port call history, services and navigation conditions on one page. A vessel page answers "where has this ship been"; a port page answers "who has been here".
How to open it
- Open the Ports Map and click Find a port — on desktop it is the second icon (a pin) in the left rail, on a phone it sits under More.
- Type the port name or its UN/LOCODE, pick the port from the suggestions, or tap its marker on the map.
- In the port panel, click Open full port page.
The direct address is built from the port code: rynda.io/ports/NLRTM-rotterdam, or simply rynda.io/ports/NLRTM.
What the header shows
The port name with its UN/LOCODE, a vessels currently in port counter, coordinates, country and aquatic area. Open on live map takes you back to the map centred on this port.
The sections
- "About this port · AI summary" — a short brief: what the port lives on and which ships it takes.
- "Port at a glance" — NGA World Port Index particulars: maximum draft, depths at the cargo pier, in the channel and at the anchorage, maximum vessel length and beam, harbor size and type, shelter, tide range, drydock, entrance width.
- Vessels currently in port and on approach — live AIS: who is moored or at anchor, and who is inbound with an ETA in the next 14 days.
- Port call history — who called earlier: arrival, departure and time alongside, filtered by date.
- "Services & facilities" — cargo, fuel and crew services: bunkering, fresh water, tugs and whatever else the WPI records.
- "Environment & pilotage" — local hazards (ice, strong tides, heavy swell), compulsory pilotage and tugs on berthing, repair-yard capacity, first port of entry for customs, and Sailing Directions references.
- Winter navigation — ice class and winter regime; this card appears only for ports with an ice regime.
- "Nearby ports" — ports within 200 nautical miles, with the distance to each.
- Notices to mariners — warnings in force and chart corrections for the port's waters, for ports where we run a notices section.
- "Frequently asked" — quick answers about this particular port.
- "Verify against primary sources" — links to NGA WPI, the port authority and regulators, so any figure can be checked at the origin.
Which cards appear depends on the port: when the WPI holds no services or conditions data, those cards are not rendered, and the numbering stays sequential.
What signing in and a plan open
