Distance and route planning on the map

The "Calculate distance" tool builds a sea route between ports and measures its length. Useful for sizing a passage and preparing a voyage.

How to build a route

1. Open the Ports Map and pick "Calculate distance" in the left tool rail (on a phone, "Route" in the bottom bar).
2. Enter the departure and destination ports — each field searches ports by name. "Add waypoint" adds a port in between.
3. Press "Calculate" — the tool shows the sea distance in nautical miles and kilometres and the passage time at the speed you set.

Quick measure

For a straight-line distance there's the "Measure" tool in the "Tools" group of the left rail: click points on the map and it shows the distance between them in nautical miles.
