RYNDA is a digital maritime e-marketplace platform owned and operated by RYNDA GLOBAL FZCO (Dubai, UAE). The Platform operates as an electronic bulletin board where Users can post and view listings for cargo, vessels, seafarer profiles, and job vacancies. RYNDA does not sell services, provide transportation, or act as a recruitment agency — it is solely a venue for Users to connect with each other.
RYNDA recognizes the importance of protecting personal privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of your information. In this Privacy Policy, we explain what data we collect from Users, why we collect it, how we use it, and with whom we may share it. We also describe your rights as a data subject and how you can exercise them.
This Privacy Policy applies to all data processing by RYNDA in connection with the use of our Platform and is an integral part of the TERMS & CONDITIONS OF RYNDA.

TERMS USED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY
Platform / E-Marketplace:
The RYNDA online platform accessible at rynda.io and crewing.rynda.io, which serves as an electronic bulletin board for posting and viewing listings.
Listing:
Any posting on the Platform, including cargo requests, vessel positions, seafarer profiles, and job vacancies.
Personal Data:
Any personal information that allows a third party to identify an individual (data subject) directly or indirectly.
Special Categories of Personal Data:
So-called "sensitive" personal data (such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health, biometric or genetic data).
Data Controller:
RYNDA GLOBAL FZCO is the Data Controller for the purposes outlined in this Policy.
Data Processor:
An individual or legal entity who acts under the instructions of the data controller.

1. WHAT PERSONAL DATA IS COLLECTED
When Users register and post Listings on the Platform, we may collect:
Account and Profile Information
Name, surname, company name, position, and professional credentials collected during registration.
Contact Information
Email, phone number, and other contact details for Platform communication.
Listing Content
Information Users choose to include in their Listings: cargo details, vessel specifications, seafarer qualifications, job vacancy descriptions, and other content posted on the Platform.
Seafarer Profile Data (crewing.rynda.io)
For seafarers posting their profiles: STCW certificates, medical certificates, passport details, seaman's book, employment history, qualifications, and vessel experience. This data is posted by Users to make their profiles visible to potential employers.
Platform Activity Data
Page views, approximate location, IP address, browser type, device type, and how you navigate the Platform. We collect this through Google Analytics 4 (GA4, including the Google tag / gtag.js) to understand usage, improve performance, and enhance security. You can limit analytics cookies via our Cookies Policy and the in-site Cookie Settings (footer).

Billing Information
For paid subscriptions and listing fees. Payment details processed via secure payment processors.
Excluded Data
We do not intentionally process Special Categories of Personal Data beyond what Users choose to include in their Listings (e.g., medical fitness certificates for seafarer profiles). Any other sensitive data received inadvertently will be deleted.
2. USE OF PERSONAL DATA
We use collected data to operate the e-marketplace Platform:
- User identity confirmation and account management
- Enabling Users to post and manage their Listings
- Displaying Listings to other Users on the Platform
- Facilitating communication between Users
- Customer support
- Processing subscription fees and listing fees
- Platform security and fraud prevention
- Platform improvement based on usage analytics
Important:
As an e-marketplace, RYNDA displays Listing content (including personal data contained therein) to other Platform Users. When you post a Listing, you consent to making that information visible to other Users who may contact you directly.
Children's Privacy
Our Platform is for maritime professionals aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Contact info@rynda.io for removal requests.
3. DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA
No Sale of Personal Data
RYNDA does not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with service providers under strict contracts.
Platform Visibility (E-Marketplace Function)
As an e-marketplace, certain information you post in Listings is visible to other Users:
- Cargo Listings are visible to shipowners and brokers
- Vessel Listings are visible to cargo owners and brokers
- Seafarer Profiles are visible to employers seeking crew
- Vacancy Listings are visible to seafarers seeking employment
This visibility is the core function of the e-marketplace. By posting a Listing, you consent to this visibility.

- Cloud hosting and infrastructure
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited, depending on your region). Google's use of data is described in Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data practices.

We may disclose data to law enforcement and authorities where required by applicable law.

6. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Data Residency:
- Storage location: Personal data is stored on servers in the United Arab Emirates.
Where transfers to third-party providers are necessary, we ensure appropriate contractual safeguards are in place.
7. MY FLEET SERVICE — ADDITIONAL PROCESSING
- Data we process in My Fleet: lists of tracked vessels (IMO/MMSI identifiers), alert and zone settings, saved analytical scenarios, the selected tier and subscription status, and the email addresses of team members the User invites.
- Legal basis: performance of the contract for the User's own data; for invited team members, consent — by inviting a member, the User confirms it has a lawful basis to share that person's email address with us for the purpose of providing shared access.
- Payment data: bank-card details are entered on the secure page of, and processed and stored exclusively by, a PCI DSS-certified payment provider — never by the Company. The full card number, expiry date, and CVC/CVV are not transmitted to, processed, or stored by us; we receive only an opaque saved-payment-method token and the information needed to record the subscription and issue fiscal receipts. All data is exchanged over encrypted (TLS) channels.
- Localisation: personal data is stored on servers in the UAE, as described in the International Data Transfers section above.
- AIS data: vessel position and voyage data are derived from third-party AIS sources and are not the User's personal data; their use is governed by the Terms & Conditions.
8. USER RIGHTS

Automated Decision-Making
RYNDA does not make decisions with legal effects solely by automated means. Our matching algorithms help Users find relevant Listings but Users retain full control over their decisions.
