Report Purchase Terms

1. What you can buy
These terms cover one-off reports about vessels and companies bought on rynda.io from RYNDA GLOBAL FZCO ("we", "us"). They form part of our Terms of Use and apply together with Payments and Refunds. "Business user" and "consumer" have the meaning given in the Terms of Use. By paying for a report, you accept the Terms of Use and these terms. Prices are in US dollars.
You can buy four reports: a vessel dossier, a PSC inspection report, a vessel history and a shipowner report (section 2). You order a report on a vessel or company page or in your account under Screening. Bundles of 5 or 10 checks are sold for all reports except vessel history. Prices are shown on the pricing page and where you order; samples of all reports except vessel history are on the pricing page.
When you order a dossier, you can add a PSC inspection report: one payment, but built and delivered separately.
My Fleet plans include report quotas: the dossier on PRO and ENTERPRISE, the shipowner report and vessel history on ENTERPRISE, in the amounts shown on the pricing page. The PSC inspection report is in no plan. Quotas are used by the owner of the organisation.
2. What each report contains
Vessel dossier: identity (IMO, MMSI, call sign, flag, type, status, home port); particulars (build year and yard, tonnage, deadweight, dimensions, hull material, class society, status and notation, navigation area, P&I insurer, main engine, 36-month detention rate); sanctions screening of the vessel and related companies; owners, managers and ownership history from registries; port state control inspections; where the vessel traded over up to 90 days of observation, repeated routes, laden and ballast voyages; name, flag and class history.
PSC inspection report: the vessel (name, IMO, type, flag, year of build); every port state control inspection on file (date, port, MoU, type, number of deficiencies, outcome); deficiencies line by line (category, wording and code where the authority publishes them, marks for detention grounds and class-related items); ship certificates with their validity from the latest inspection that records them. Inspections whose details the authority did not publish are marked. Owners, sanctions and particulars are not included. The report is sold only for vessels with inspections that recorded deficiencies.
Vessel history: a snapshot of the platform's archive when the report is built: port calls (port, UN/LOCODE, arrival and departure in port local time, length of stay) and completed voyages (from, to, times, distance). Periods without data are marked. If there are more records than fit, the latest ones are included and the document says so. It is not updated later, has no sanctions or ownership data and has no sample.
Shipowner report: company profile (legal name, country, address, registry roles, vessels over its history); fleet under its control; compliance and sanctions, vessels on sanctions lists; affiliated companies that share vessels with it in the registry; vessels that left the fleet and who took over their roles; fleet dynamics; inspections and detentions by vessel over 36 months, detentions by place and date; where the fleet trades. It is always built in full, whatever your plan, and counts vessels with full registry records in the sources.
Contents are as described on the platform on the date of payment.
3. Sources and reference nature
Reports are built from vessel and company registries and public sources, classification society records, port state control records published by the authorities, AIS data from third-party sources, and these sanctions lists: OFAC SDN (US Treasury), EU consolidated list (FSF), UK FCDO / OFSI, SECO (Switzerland), Canada autonomous sanctions, DFAT (Australia), EU Official Journal vessel sanctions, UN 1718 (DPRK) designated vessels.
The check date in the header is when the report was built; sanctions status may have changed since.
A report is for reference only:
- information is shown as published in the sources on the build date; errors or gaps that are already in the sources are not faults in the report;
- sanctions screening is a search for matches by vessel and company identifiers. It is not legal advice and does not replace your own compliance checks. No match does not mean that no restrictions apply, and a match should be checked against the official source;
- port calls, routes and voyages are reconstructed from AIS data, which may be delayed, interrupted or wrong. An unobserved call is not in the report. Laden or ballast status is shown only where draught data exists. The data is not for navigation or safety;
- the detention rate, laden and ballast voyages, repeated routes and affiliated companies are our own calculations from source data and may be wrong;
- where there is no information, the section says so. That does not mean nothing happened.
A report does not replace legal advice, primary sources or your own due diligence; you make your own decisions. Report discrepancies to support@rynda.io.
You must not use a report or the platform in breach of sanctions or export control laws that apply to you or to us. We may refuse to sell or deliver a report, or restrict access, under the "Sanctions measures" paragraph in section 9 of the Terms of Use.
4. Buying without an account
You can buy a single report with just your email address. By pressing the payment button, you accept the Terms of Use and these terms and confirm that you have read the Privacy Policy.
After payment we create an account for that email address. You sign in with a code or link from our email and, at first sign-in, choose your country and accept the platform documents. Reports are under Screening → Reports and dossiers → My reports. Bundles require sign-in. You are responsible for the email address you enter.
5. Delivery
After payment, we email a confirmation with the amount and an order link. The vessel dossier, vessel history and shipowner report are usually ready within a few minutes. The PSC inspection report usually takes up to 30 minutes; if it cannot be built at once, we keep trying, and it may take several hours.
The finished report arrives by email as an attached PDF file, with a one-time sign-in link valid for 30 minutes; after that, you sign in with a code. If the email cannot be delivered, we try again. You can also download the report again from My reports. Reports bought on the English version are in English.
A report counts as delivered when it becomes available for download in your account or when the email with it reaches your email address, whichever is first. If the file becomes unavailable because of a fault on our side, we restore it free of charge.
6. Completeness and failed reports
A report is complete if it has every section for which the sources hold information on the build date. Where there is none, for example no inspections, the section says so; that is not a defect.
A PSC inspection report is never delivered incomplete. If inspection records cannot be obtained, we retry, and if that fails, we refund the price in full.
If port call and voyage data cannot be obtained for a dossier, we try once more; if that fails, the dossier is delivered without those sections. At your request we then rebuild it free of charge or refund it: a consumer chooses which, and for a business user we choose.
If a report cannot be built because of a fault, the order is cancelled: a bundle check is returned to the bundle automatically, a plan quota is not used, and a money payment is refunded in full. A PSC inspection report added to a dossier is built separately; if it fails, its price is refunded and the dossier stands.
7. Repeat purchases
If you are signed in and order the same report for the same vessel or company within 24 hours of buying it, no new order is created: the platform opens the report you already have. This includes reports under a plan quota. After 24 hours you can buy it again, built afresh. A different type of report for the same vessel is not a repeat.
Guest purchases are not checked for repeats, to avoid revealing other people's purchases. If a guest pays twice for the same report by mistake within 24 hours, the second payment is refunded in full on request.
8. How you may use a report
We grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use the report for as long as we hold the rights in it. You may use it in your own business, store and print it, and share it or extracts from it with your counterparties, advisers, insurers, banks and authorities in connection with your deal or check.
You may not resell, rent out or distribute the report for a fee, publish it openly or send it out in bulk, use reports to build a database or service that competes with the platform, or remove our details or the reference notice. The rights in reports and in the databases behind them belong to us or our licensors (section 10 of the Terms of Use).
9. Information about individuals
A report may name individuals listed in registries and public sources as vessel owners, directors or representatives of shipowning and management companies, as published. You may use this information only to check the vessel, counterparty and transaction, in line with the data protection laws that apply to you, and must not pass it on for other purposes.
A person named in a report can exercise their data rights by writing to info@rynda.io (section 10 of the Privacy Policy).
10. Refunds
A report is built to order and supplied straight after payment. At checkout, next to the payment button, you ask us to build and deliver it at once and acknowledge that your right to cancel ends once it has been delivered (section 5). The payment confirmation email repeats this. This does not affect your rights if the report is faulty.
We refund in full a report that could not be built (section 6) and a mistaken or duplicate payment (section 7).
If a report has a material defect caused by us, for example it was built for the wrong vessel or company, a consumer keeps the rights given by the law of their country. For a business user, we will, at our choice, rebuild the report or refund its price, provided the business user tells us within 30 days of delivery.
Reports received under a plan quota are not refundable. Unused bundle checks: section 9 of Payments and Refunds. Refund requests go to support@rynda.io and are paid within 10 calendar days to the original payment method (section 10 of Payments and Refunds).
11. Liability
A report is for reference only (section 3). Errors or gaps that are already in the sources and changes after the build date are not faults in the report. For business users, we are not responsible for decisions based on a report. Your rights for a faulty report are not affected (section 10).
For business users, and to the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for direct loss caused by our fault, and not for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data. Our total liability for claims relating to a report is limited to the price paid for it. For a report paid with a bundle check, that is the bundle price divided by the number of checks; for a report under a plan quota, the price of that report on the pricing page on the date you received it. For claims relating to a report, this limit applies instead of the general limit in section 12 of the Terms of Use.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, or limits mandatory consumer rights.
