1. What this consent is
This page describes your consent to receive marketing emails from RYNDA GLOBAL FZCO ("we", "us") about the rynda.io website and its features (the "platform") and about our other services, and to our use of your personal data for that purpose. It is a separate consent: accepting the Terms of Use or reading the Privacy Policy does not give it.
The consent is optional and is not a condition of registration. You can register and use every feature of the platform without it, including paid features. Declining marketing emails does not affect your listings, messages, My Fleet, reports or subscription.
Our marketing emails are only about the platform and our own services. We do not send advertising for other companies under this consent.
Legal basis: where the EU GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Sending marketing emails with your consent also meets the requirements of Article 13 of Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy Directive) and regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 in the United Kingdom. Under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data of the United Arab Emirates, we process this information on the basis of your consent.
2. Which emails are marketing
With your consent we may send you:
- news about the platform and its features;
- offers of My Fleet plans and of the PRO trial;
- promotions and special offers;
- offers of our other services, such as custom software, app and AI development (Rynda Tech);
- invitations to come back to the platform if you have not used it for a while.
Marketing messages are sent only by email to your account address. We do not make marketing calls or send marketing text messages or messenger messages under this consent.
3. Emails you receive without this consent
Emails that are needed to run the platform and perform our contract with you are not marketing and do not need this consent, for example:
- sign-in and confirmation codes, account security notices;
- invoices, receipts and payment emails;
- emails about renewing or ending a subscription;
- My Fleet alerts and digests about the vessels you follow;
- messages from conversations and emails about your listings, including moderation results;
- reminders that a listing's display period is ending or that a listing has been archived;
- notices of changes to the platform's legal documents.
You can set the frequency, channels and quiet hours of My Fleet alerts in your account.
4. Information we use
- your email address, to send the email;
- your name and interface language, to address you by name and write in your language;
- your account type and role (for example, shipowner, broker or freight forwarder), so that offers fit your work;
- your plan, trial, payments, whether you have vessels in My Fleet, and the date you registered, so that we do not offer what you already have and can choose a suitable offer;
- the date of your last visit, so that we can invite you back if you have not used the platform for a while;
- the domain of your email address, to tell a company address from a public email service and send offers for companies to company addresses;
- records of sending, delivery and opening of our emails, of clicks on their links, of unsubscribing and of spam complaints, so that we do not email people who have opted out and can see which emails are useful.
Links in marketing emails carry campaign tags that show the visit came from the email.
An email delivery provider sends these emails on our behalf. It receives your email address, your name and the text of the email, and tells us about delivery, opening, link clicks and unsubscribing. All recipients of personal data are listed in section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
5. How you give consent
You can give consent in one of these ways:
- with a separate, optional tick box for marketing emails when you register or in the window about a new version of the documents in your account;
- with the "Marketing emails" switch in your account, for example in Notifications.
The box and the switch are not turned on in advance. Registering, accepting a new version of the documents, buying a report, paying for a subscription, silence or inactivity are never treated as consent to marketing.
We keep a record of when and how you gave or withdrew consent.
6. How to withdraw consent
You can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it:
- with the "Marketing emails" switch in your account, for example in Notifications, which stops marketing emails only;
- with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails, marketing or service;
- by email to support@rynda.io from your account address.
Reporting our marketing email as spam and unsubscribing through your email provider also withdraw your consent.
Withdrawal takes effect immediately: we stop sending marketing emails and stop using your information for this purpose. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of emails sent before it (Article 7(3) GDPR, where it applies). We keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not send you marketing again. You also have the right to object to direct marketing at any time (Article 21(2) and (3) GDPR, where it applies).
Withdrawing consent does not switch off the emails listed in section 3. The unsubscribe link works through our email delivery provider, which may then stop delivering any email to your address, including sign-in codes and My Fleet alerts. To stop marketing only, use the switch in your account. If service emails stop after you use the unsubscribe link, write to support@rynda.io and we will help you get them back.
7. How long consent lasts
Your consent remains valid until you withdraw it or delete your account. After that, we stop using your information for marketing emails and delete information used only for that purpose within 30 days. We keep your email address on the suppression list (section 6) and a record of when consent was given and withdrawn.
