Vessel alerts

Vessel alerts in Telegram and email

Rynda (rynda.io) watches the vessels you add to My Fleet and messages you when something happens to them: a port arrival or departure, a new destination or ETA, a lost AIS signal, entry into an area you drew. There are 13 alert types. They arrive in Telegram, by email and in the app, and port arrival and departure alerts are free for 3 vessels.

Set-up

How to set up a vessel alert

  1. Add the vessel to My Fleet

Create a free account and add the vessel by its name or IMO number.

  2. Create an alert

Open Alerts and press Create alert. Pick the event: port arrival, for example.

  3. Choose vessels and parameters

Apply the alert to the whole fleet or to specific vessels, then set the port, the threshold or the area.

  4. Choose where it arrives

Pick a delivery channel, Telegram or email, and save. Every alert also lands in the Events section.

In practice

What alerts are used for

  • An arrival without watching the map

The message says the vessel reached the port, so nobody has to keep a tab open and refresh it.

  • A fixture under control

A changed destination or a slipping ETA shows up as an alert the moment the vessel reports it.

  • A silent vessel noticed

AIS lost fires when a vessel in your fleet sends no signal for longer than the threshold you set.

Questions

Vessel alerts: questions and answers

Are Telegram alerts free?

Yes. Telegram delivery works on every plan, including FREE. The free plan covers port arrival and departure alerts for 3 vessels. The other 11 alert types need PRO or ENTERPRISE.

Which vessel events can trigger an alert?

There are 13: port arrival and departure, destination change, ETA change, arrival approaching, AIS lost, enter and leave area, speed change, draught change, anchor dragging, ship-to-ship and vessel opening.

How many alerts can I create?

5 alert rules on the free plan and 50 on PRO. One rule can cover the whole fleet or specific vessels.

Can I get alerts for a vessel I do not own?

Yes. My Fleet is a watch list: add any vessel by its name or IMO number.

Where do the alerts arrive?

In Telegram, by email and in the Events section of the app. You choose the channel for each alert, so port arrivals can go to Telegram and the rest stay in Events.

How do Rynda alerts differ from MarineTraffic notifications?

MarineTraffic delivers notifications on the web, by email and through its mobile app, and offers them with a paid subscription only, according to the MarineTraffic Help Center (article updated 2 September 2026). Rynda delivers alerts to Telegram and email and includes port arrival and departure alerts in the free plan. MarineTraffic lists more event types, over 40; Rynda has 13.
