"Jobs at sea" is the cabinet section for seafarers: it shows how many jobs from shipowners and crewing agencies are open for your rank and takes you to Rynda Crewing. The section appears for everyone who picked the "Crewing, seafarer" role, and it is available on any plan: neither the rank nor the vacancy counter is limited by a subscription.
How to open the section
"Jobs at sea" sits second in the cabinet's left menu, right after Screening. On a phone it is the "Jobs" tab at the bottom of the screen.
After you log in the cabinet opens what you came for — checking a vessel — not this section. Rynda and Rynda Crewing are two separate services, and most seafarers come to us to check a vessel before a contract and learn about the vacancies here. The first Screening screen carries a "We also run a crewing service" line that leads to the section and closes with the cross.
The section appears for the "Crewing, seafarer" role. The role is set on the third step of sign-up and changed in Account → Profile — pick it and the section shows up in the menu. Other roles do not get it: a broker or a charterer has no use for vacancies.
How to set your rank
- Open "Jobs at sea".
- In the "Your rank" card, pick your rank from the list — it holds the full Crewing directory: master, chief officer, chief engineer, electro-technical officer and the rest.
- There is nothing to save: the choice applies immediately and the counter recalculates.
Each rank in the list carries the number of vacancies open for it, so you can see where the demand is before you choose. You can change the rank at any time in the same card; the "Choose a rank" item clears it.

Crewing data is refreshed once a day, and the date of the last update is at the bottom of the page. The number may therefore differ from what Crewing itself shows at this minute.
How to get to the vacancies
Below the counter you get a few recent vacancies for your rank: title, embarkation port, contract length, start date and pay. Each one opens its own page in Crewing. The "All for your rank" button opens the full list there.
Crewing runs on a separate site, crewing.rynda.io, with its own sign-in: the login and password there are separate even if you are already signed in to the cabinet. Every link opens in a new tab, so the cabinet stays where it is.
If you are looking for crew rather than work, the "Looking for crew?" card has a "Post a vacancy" button that leads to the same place.
Where to change your role
Rank and role are different fields. The role ("Crewing, seafarer", "Shipowner or operator" and the rest) is set at sign-up and changed in Account → Profile; it decides which sections you get in the menu and in what order — including whether you see "Jobs at sea" at all. The rank lives inside the section itself and affects only which vacancies you are shown.
Set your rank once, and the cabinet will keep showing the demand for it.
