16 31-P-02. GREECE. Aegean Sea Coast - Thessaloníki. — Depths. Works. Buoyage. Wreck. Submarine pipeline. Restricted area. (Taunton, 16- 4030(P)) 1. Numerous changes in the vicinity of Thessaloníki have been identified. The most significant are as follows (WGS84 Datum) : 2. Reclamation and construction works at Provlítas No 6 (40 38,114 N - 22 54,548 E) have been completed. 3. There have been extensive changes to buoyage marking submarine pipelines at EKO (Esso Pappas) (40 37,793 N - 22 53,536 E) and Mamidoil-Jetoil Terminals (40 37,716 N - 22 53,044 E). 4. A mooring buoy, Fl.Y, has been established at location 40 36,635 N - 22 54,095 E. 5. Depths less than charted exist in Órmos Thessaloníkis. The most significant are as follows (WGS84 Datum) : Depth Position 9,8 m 40 37,847 N - 22 55,334 E ; 9,7 m 40 37,774 N - 22 55,732 E ; 17,6 m 40 36,459 N - 22 54,918 E ; 8,1 m 40 35,145 N - 22 55,502 E. 6. A stranded wreck has been reported to exist in position 40 38,338 N - 22 54,228 E. 7. A submarine pipeline has been laid joining the following positions (WGS84 Datum) : 40 37,420 N - 22 57,007 E ; (shore) 40 37,142 N - 22 56,631 E. 8. An Envirionmentally Sensitive Sea Area (ESSA) has been established off the coast of Kalochórion (40 38,500 N - 22 51,480 E) 9. Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the area.
