PUBLIC SALE STANDARD NAUTICAL CHART AND LITTORAL PLANNING CHART CANCELATION PLAN As the international maritime community moves towards electronic navigation, the Maritime Safety Office began reducing NGA's Limited Distribution (LIMDIS) Standard Nautical Chart (SNC) portfolio as of August 2023 and concluded our LIMDIS SNC reduction in NM 36/24, the Maritime Safety Office is preparing to cancel our remaining SNC products. All Public Sale Standard Nautical Charts and Littoral Planning Charts are planned be canceled in NM 11/26 on March 14, 2026. Within NM 11/26 there will not be individual chart cancelation corrections in the Chart Correction or cancel indicators in the Charts Affected Section listed in Section I. Instead a master list will be provided within the Marine Information Section. NGA will support limited US government hardcopy obligations in these areas by using Certified Printed Electronic Navigational Chart (CPENC). CPENC boundaries can be found in the DLA Map Catalog and the interactive DLA Map Catalog in FEDMALL. US Government customers needing hardcopy support in areas where charts are canceled should contact MarHelp@nga.mil. CPECNC charts can be found at: https://mcdp.nga.mil Sailing Directions are being adjusted to reflect the elimination of Standard Nautical Charts. 1. Sector Graphics - Removal of all SNC footprints, adding a sector boundary polygon, deleting of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) information paragraph, and updating the sector graphic caption “Sector ###-CHART INFORMATION” to read “SECTOR ###-BOUNDARIES.” 2. Explanatory Remarks - Updating the Charts paragraph to reflect the SNC reduction process. 3. Index-Gazetteer - Updating the information paragraphs to reflect the SNC reduction process. 4. Sailing Directions Text - Removing all references to SNC chart numbers. For chart numbering purposes, the world is divided into nine regions, each corresponding to the geographic limits of one of the nine regions in the NGA/DLIS Catalog of Maps Charts and Related Products. Each Region is further subdivided into the numbered Subregions in the above graphic. The first two digits of all five-digit chart numbers indicate the geographic subregion to which the chart pertains. Users can locate corrections in this Notice for charts of their immediate interest by determining the two-digit Subregion number of the pertinent geo- graphic area, and then turning to the page or pages that list the chart numbers beginning with those two digits.
