On September 20, 2026, South Korean media reported that Incheon Port Authority is expanding its portfolio of AI‑ and robotics‑based services to enhance port‑infrastructure management and marine‑environment protection. A central project is an AI‑ and robot‑driven unmanned road‑damage management system, which analyzes the condition of port roads to detect small cracks and potholes and then dispatches repair robots to fix minor defects autonomously. In parallel, the port is conducting pilots with waterborne robots that collect marine litter, with supporting charging and storage facilities being installed and a roadmap toward AI‑based autonomous operation.
