The ports of Riga, Ventspils and Liepaja have completed a joint digitization project, launching a unified digital platform that centralizes data on vessel calls, services, permits, infrastructure maps and payments. The EU‑funded system aims to streamline customer service, reduce paperwork and enhance transparency and real‑time visibility across Latvia’s maritime sector.
Latvia’s three largest ports — Riga, Ventspils and Liepaja — have completed a landmark joint digitization project, putting into operation a unified Port and Multimodal Logistics Services Platform described as the most ambitious digitalization initiative in the history of Latvia’s ports. The platform provides a single access point where shipping lines, agents, terminals and other service providers can view real‑time information on vessel calls, berths, port services, permits, passes, contracts and payments. The project ran from December 2024 to August 2026 and received around €3.24 million in funding from the EU Recovery Fund.
