In China’s Fujian province, the Silk Road Maritime trade data service platform is being expanded as a digital hub aggregating data on millions of products to support exporters, ports and shipping companies, complemented by a meteorological platform optimising navigation at 58 domestic and overseas ports.
Chinese business media report that Fujian province is rapidly building out the Silk Road Maritime trade data service platform, launched in March 2026 and already aggregating information on about 3 million types of products across 230 countries and regions. The platform provides exporters with detailed market and customer data and supports ports, shipping lines and logistics operators in analysing cargo demand and planning services. In parallel, a dedicated meteorological digital platform monitors conditions at 58 ports in China and overseas, helping to optimise navigation services on major ocean routes by an estimated 30 percent.
