Chinese yard Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS), under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), has secured contracts worth USD 2.688 billion to build 12 large LNG dual‑fuel containerships for COSCO Asset Management or its designated single‑ship subsidiaries, according to disclosures dated August 30, 2026. Each vessel is priced at about USD 224 million, with an actual capacity of around 21,700 TEU; COSCO Shipping Holdings categorizes them as 22,000‑TEU units based on their size and technical specifications. Deliveries are planned between 2028 and 2030, providing long‑term workload for the yard and the wider CSSC group.
