Port Klang in Malaysia is moving ahead with significant infrastructure expansion plans after reporting record container throughput in 2025 and retaining its rank as the world’s 10th‑busiest container port. Westports, the main terminal operator at Port Klang, operated at approximately 82% of its existing capacity, prompting plans to expand the CT10–CT17 container terminals as the single most important variable in the port’s next decade. The expansion is expected to add quay length, yard space and handling capacity to accommodate rising volumes and mitigate the risk of congestion during seasonal peaks. Alongside physical expansion, Port Klang is also discussing improvements to landside connectivity and digital systems to enhance operational efficiency.
