LR2 rates have risen sharply on major product-tanker routes, with earnings from the Middle East Gulf to Northwest Europe reaching $324,060 per day as disrupted trade reduces effective vessel supply.
LR2 earnings on the Middle East Gulf–Northwest Europe route climbed from $108,734 to $324,060 per day, an increase of nearly 198%. On the Mediterranean–Far East route, rates rose by about 414% to $172,513 per day. The moves show how quickly the price of prompt tanker capacity can rise when trade flows become unstable.
