Saudi terminal operator Red Sea Gateway Terminal and France’s CMA CGM Group have signed a deal worth around SAR 1.6 billion ($426–434 million) to jointly develop and operate a new container Terminal 4 at Jeddah Islamic Port on the Red Sea. The project will add about 2.6 million TEU of annual capacity, build new deep‑water berths and install 10 ship‑to‑shore cranes, reinforcing Jeddah’s position as a major Asia–Europe hub and reducing reliance on routes via the Strait of Hormuz.
Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) and France-based CMA CGM Group have agreed to jointly develop and operate a new container facility, Terminal 4, at Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Islamic Port on the Red Sea coast. The investment is valued at roughly SAR 1.6 billion, equivalent to about $426–434 million, and is being carried out in partnership with the Saudi Ports Authority, Mawani. The new terminal will be developed adjacent to RSGT’s existing terminal complex and will function as a dedicated container facility within a joint venture between RSGT and CMA CGM.
