French carrier CMA CGM has announced higher fuel-related surcharges on container shipments starting in early October 2026. The new surcharges will range roughly from USD 75 to 320 per container, up from around USD 65–165, reflecting sustained increases in fuel prices and pressure on operating costs.
According to trade press and regional business reporting, CMA CGM has published updated levels of additional fuel surcharges to be applied to container shipments from the beginning of October 2026. The new charges will range at roughly USD 75–320 per container, replacing previous levels of about USD 65–165 that were introduced in July. In parallel, other major liner operators are adjusting their own add‑on charges, including peak season surcharges and special fees linked to the use of constrained infrastructure such as the Panama Canal.
