Diana Shipping has agreed a direct continuation of the time charter for its Panamax bulker m/v Leto with Cargill International at a gross rate of $18,000 per day, about 40% above the vessel’s current hire. The one-year-plus extension highlights firm demand for modern Panamax tonnage and a resilient dry bulk time charter market.
Diana Shipping Inc., the Athens-based dry bulk owner, announced a direct continuation of the time charter contract for its Panamax vessel m/v Leto with Cargill International SA. Under the new deal, the gross charter rate is set at $18,000 per day, less 4.75% in commissions to third parties, for a period running from around 10 September 2026 to between 1 September and 31 October 2027. The ship is currently on charter at $12,750 per day, so the extension locks in a substantial increase in daily earnings on the same unit.
