According to international business media and specialized maritime outlets, within the last 24 hours the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port Authority reported completion of another stage in the expansion of a principal container terminal serving long-haul services to Europe. The project involves extending the quay line to accommodate larger, next‑generation container ships, deepening the port basin to required draft levels, and commissioning additional gantry cranes and automated container sorting systems. The expansion is part of a multi‑year development plan, under which Ningbo‑Zhoushan already ranks among the world’s largest container hubs by handled volumes.
