Korea Maritime and Ocean University, in partnership with Samsung Heavy Industries, has launched an enhanced electro‑electronics training programme for shipyard workers and maritime professionals. The course focuses on strengthening practical skills in shipboard electrical and electronic systems to support high‑tech shipbuilding and fleet operations.
Over the past day, South Korean media have reported a new upskilling initiative jointly developed by Korea Maritime and Ocean University and Samsung Heavy Industries. According to these reports, the university’s Anchor project team is running a “2026 electro‑electronics competence enhancement” course at Samsung Heavy’s Digital Transformation campus in Geoje, aimed at in‑service employees. Faculty members from the maritime university will deliver practice‑oriented training on shipboard electrical and electronic systems, including operation, diagnostics and maintenance, as well as integration with digital and automated ship systems.
