Norwegian car carrier operator Hoegh Autoliners has ordered six additional Aurora‑class dual‑fuel PCTC vessels from a Chinese shipyard, further expanding its already large newbuilding program in this segment. Each vessel will have a capacity of up to 9,100 cars and will be equipped with main engines supplied by Everllence and bridge systems provided by Kongsberg Maritime. The vessels will carry DNV ammonia and methanol ready notation, indicating structural and systems preparedness for a future switch to these alternative fuels. The order was announced on August 25, 2026, with deliveries scheduled towards the end of the decade.
