Norway-based Höegh Autoliners has decided to order six more dual-fuel LNG, zero‑carbon‑ready Aurora class PCTC vessels from China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu), with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2031. With options and reserved slots, the newbuilding program could expand to as many as 26 vessels.
Norway-headquartered ro-ro carrier Höegh Autoliners has announced a fresh order for six Aurora class pure car and truck carriers, equipped with dual-fuel LNG engines and prepared for future zero‑carbon fuels. All vessels will be built by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu), with deliveries slated for 2029–2031 according to detailed shipyard and trade press reports. At the same time, the company has secured an option for four additional units and reserved construction slots for a further four ships, providing considerable flexibility to scale up the program.
