Japanese container carrier Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced updated Europe Environment Surcharge levels for the fourth quarter of 2026. The revision reflects higher costs for environmental compliance and low‑carbon services on European container trades.
Container News reports that Ocean Network Express (ONE) has published new Europe Environment Surcharge (EES) rates applicable to its European services from the start of Q4 2026. The surcharge, applied to container shipments to and from Europe, is being adjusted by equipment type and trade lane, with increases on several services compared with previous quarters. ONE states that EES is designed to recover additional costs tied to emissions reduction, the use of more expensive low‑carbon marine fuels and the deployment of greener logistics solutions.
