Odisha’s High Court has ordered authorities to disembark and repatriate 23 seafarers from MT Unity after the tanker’s owner allegedly failed to pay wages, provide supplies, or arrange crew relief.
Odisha’s High Court has directed Indian authorities to remove and repatriate the crew of the Cameroon-flagged tanker MT Unity, which has been anchored off Paradip since May. The 23-person crew includes 20 Russians, two Egyptians and one Kazakh national. The court asked authorities to complete the repatriation, preferably within three weeks, and to place a replacement crew aboard the vessel.
