At Saudi Arabia’s Port of NEOM in Oxagon, Siemens has implemented a project to integrate Mevea’s digital twin and simulation technology into port crane automation. Industry coverage reports that the digital twin platform is being applied to control and optimize operations of 10 automated ship-to-shore (STS) gantry cranes and 30 automated electric rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, enabling highly precise automated container handling. Additional business and construction media in the region confirm that the initiative is a core component of NEOM’s “smart port” concept, built around fully digital, low-touch and automated cargo operations.
